Oh My, July!
I’m currently in rehearsal for a one-act play that is in the running for a slot in THEATRE WEST‘S upcoming WEST FEST, a showcase of new works by writer members. It is written by DARRYL VINYARD and the cast includes the very talented actors WARREN SWEENEY and AARON HALIBURTON. Once we have a performance date, I will post it here.
In addtion, I had the good fortune to participate in a staged reading of a new musical by DAVID CHISOLM on the life of Doc Holliday. Always excellent LOUIS HERTHUM played Doc, and I read the part of his female best friend, Lottie. It was presented at THE MET THEATRE in Los Angeles and included a wonderful performance by character actor and Met Artistic Director, PAUL KOSLO.
I spent several weekends volunteering at THEATRE WEST as House Manager for their WRITERS IN REP plays, BOXES and THE CLAW. Both exciting new works that were smart, funny, and intriguing. Audiences loved them and it was a pleasure to pitch in.
I’m also still involved with three other plays-in-development at TW, one of which is LAKE GIRLS, a terrific play by JULE SELBO. JULIA SILVERMAN and I have taken on the task of producing the play and we are about to have our second informal read-thru. We will then be on a short hiatus with it as Julia opens on July 24th in the play, LOMBARDI at THE GROUP REPERTORY THEATRE. GO SEE IT! Julia is one of the finest actress you will ever see.
Until we meet again..... HAPPY SUMMER!
