Hail, November 2014!
Very tiring, but good THANKSGIVING week!
Back-to-back 5:30am calls for HAIL, CAESAR!. That meant up at 4a to be awake enough to drive to Hollywood’s, “The Lot.” At one time, this wonderful, historic studio was Pick-Fair (owned by Mary Pickford & Douglas Fairbanks), then United Artists, followed by Warner Hollywood. It was exciting and fun to be on such theatrical ‘hallowed’ ground.
Monday was a 14 hr day, Tuesday 12 hrs. Wednesday was an unplanned 6am recall, but I only worked 2 hrs. Still a full-day’s pay, so not complaining!
I, and eleven other background actors, were featured in a scene w/RALPH FIENNES and ALDEN EHRENREICH (if he’s not on your radar yet, he will be in time. Excellent young actor). They were hysterical. The scene will be a classic. It was a real privilege to watch JOEL & ETHAN COEN direct these two great actors, who hit it out of the park each take. And also a privilege to observe master/Oscar-winning cinematographer ROGER DEAKINS do his magic.
The fabulous dress I wore was designed by Oscar-nominee, MARY ZOPHRES. I wish I could post a pic, but not until after the movie opens. I cannot wait to see it and feel so lucky to have been a small part of what will be a BIG movie.
I even had a nice little exchange in the Commissary with SASHA BARON COHEN, who I didn’t recognize at first because he was wearing a hat & glasses. I have no doubt that he didn’t recognize me either… ;-)
